Job Description
The Data Manager is a practitioner of data management, concerned with establishing and controlling data quality and availability required throughout the data supply chain to ensure the right business decisions are made. Within this position, you will be responsible for the implementation of the governance process of various data inputs with the objective to control data's ability to be used. This will involve: monitoring and managing data quality / define data standards across Europe / define data activation patterns / user training. The role typically requires working with both the upstream data providers and publishers of the data as well as with clients and users of the data, such as a Business Units Data Governance Council. Responsibilities span across all or selected areas of data management: quality, operations, storage, reference and master data, data standards, security, vendor governance, metadata. Responsibilities will also include governing data changes per stewardship rules, such as data standards, security, quality, driving stewardship rule improvements, analyzing data, providing data quality insights (e.g. coverage, panel stability), providing training, developing training materials, providing interpretation consultancy, acting as a Subject Matter Expert, serving as the escalation point for 3rd level for incidents.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field as well as English proficiency
3-5 years of past experience with Data Governance/Data Management in corporate, IT, data related roles, notably with regards to Data Quality
Business Analysis: proven experience in understand business decisions and value expected from the data
Past experience in being team member for IT systems development, integration, and knowledge of how data architecture fits in the overall life cycle and architecture patterns
Qualifications (Preferred)
Knowledge of data tools like Databricks, python, SQL, API
Understanding of Project/Product Management and practical experience incl. Agile/Scrum/DevOps
Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods industry and Commercial Data experience is an additional asset
DAMA, TOGAF or TDWI certifications are welcomed
