Under the direction of the Information Leader , the Data Engineer II interacts with business stakeholders, gathers information, analyzes business and technical requirements, develops , tests and implements data - oriented solutions , in accordance with firm policies and procedures .

This role will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying Business Intelligence ( BI ) solutions. You will work closely with operational and business teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound organizational decisions.

Resp onsibilities:

  • Participate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors in document ing user stories and requirements, validat ing both business and technical requirements, and understand ing data needs to deliver scalable solutions.

  • Develop data models, perform ETL operations, and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

  • Translate requirements into effective data insights (visualizations, reporting, etc.) leveraging design best practices and team standards using approved tools.

  • Document models, code, and projects to ensure reproducibility and easy handover, while also following best practices in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment to ensure seamless and efficient development cycles.

  • Test BI solutions rigorously to ensure their reliability, effectiveness, and scalability.

  • Develop in data technologies such as Microsoft Power BI, T-SQL, Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Data b ricks

  • Familiarity within Data Warehouse, Data L ake and Data Lake House architectures

  • Provide support and continuous improvement for solutions deployed by the Information Team

  • Participate in the execution of project life cycle activities in accordance with the Information Team scrum processes and tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps

  • Achieve/ maintain proficiency in required skills identified by the Information Team to effectively deliver defined products

  • Collaborate with team members to evolve products and internal processes

    Quali fications:

  • Requires a Bachelor ’ s Degree in IT or an IT related major, or an equivalent combination of education and job - related experience

  • Requires 3-5 years of job-related experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft T-SQL, SSAS, DAX, Power BI, W ord, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Azure DevOps (will train)

  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively

  • Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines

  • Ability to analyze business challenges and recommend solutions

  • Ability to comprehend application-related concepts with a demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical thinking

  • Ability to work in an agile Scrum Team

  • Comfortable working in a virtual environment

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are very important for this position

  • Preferred : Experience with data visualization and a strong understanding of user interface and user experience design, coupled with the ability to effectively translate user needs into technical requirements.

  • Preferred : Experience in f inancial and/or professional services industry .

    Wipfli supports equal pay for equal work and values each candidate’s unique experiences and skill sets. The estimated pay range for this position is: $72,000 to $98,000. Compensation within the range is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, individuals' skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business needs and applicable employment laws.
