Position:Table Games Dealer

Reports to:Pit Boss

FLSA Status:Non-Exempt

Position Summary:Responsible for dealing a specific table game in a professional and proficient manner while adhering to all policies and procedures while in compliance with Tonkawa Gaming regulations. Table Game dealers report directly to floor supervisor and assist with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and current/potential clientele.

Essential Duties:

  • Ensures proficiency in the performance of all required tasks as detailed in the policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a professional, friendly and courteous atmosphere providing the customer with a pleasant gaming experience.
  • Explains the rules of the game to guests who ask.
  • Exchanges customers cash for chips to play in games.
  • Ensures that wagers are placed before cards are dealt, roulette wheel is spun, or dice are tossed.
  • Starts and controls games and gaming equipment, and announce winning numbers or colors.
  • Deals appropriate number of cards out to players.
  • Plays house hands from behind a gaming table.
  • Spins the roulette wheel, then collects the chips from the losing bets, and pays out to any winners.
  • Deals craps games according to internal controls and regulations.
  • Collects losing wagers and accurately pays winning wagers.
  • Keeps informed of all new and trending table games and their rules and regulations.
  • Watches for scammers or cheaters and have them removed from table if necessary.
  • Invites customers to sit at table and play, answering questions about game rules and variations.
  • Conducts the games in accordance with casino policies and procedures, handling player transactions and notifying Pit Supervisor or Pit Boss of any irregularities.
  • Advises Pit Supervisor or Pit Boss of any player disputes or arguments that may arise during the game.
  • Informs Pit Supervisor or Pit Boss of any important or relevant facts regarding specific players.
  • Maintains professional attitude and appearance while offering a high degree of customer service.
  • Communicates daily activity to oncoming shifts to ensure a smooth transition of all shifts.
  • Follows game protection procedures to safe guard company assets, as well as, protecting the integrity of games being played.
  • Must be available to work any and all hours/days and be able to rotate shifts as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • Previous dealer experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and current/potential clients.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
  • Dependable and reliable while maintaining a consistent and regular attendance record.
  • Thorough knowledge of table games policies and procedures.

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Exhibit manual dexterity to deal cards, place markers, and exchange chips for guests.
  • Able to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
  • Hear and understand speech at normal levels, outdoors and on the telephone.
  • Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly.
  • Physical agility to bend, stoop, climb stairs/ladders, work in small spaces, walk, reach and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Work involves almost constant exposure to elements, such as dirt dust, fumes, smoke, flashing lights and loud noises.
