Support Operational Excellence thru strategic analysis, including framing problems, structuring analysis, proposing creative options, and facilitating decision making Create Operational Excellence objectives for review and break into a cross functional program roadmap. Conduct regular review of roadmap progress to terminal objectives and recommend / coordinate any refinements or changes needed. Develops and maintains positive customer and port relations by understanding customer needs, terms and conditions of contracts, developing plans to meet those needs and ensuring that management is holding labor accountable for high customer service principals. Develop and implement operational strategies or terminal process improvements to drive efficiency and decrease variability Develop and optimize reporting and dashboards for all aspects of the terminal (yard, vessel, gate and rail) to track operational KPIs Assist in project execution, act as liaison for operations department needs in project management, operations planning, and go-live training. Understand impact analysis and communicate to VP of Ops project changes that will affect workforce and management. Develop and implement consistent training and quality assurance programs for the Operations department including management and workforce. Identifies, recommends, updates, expansions on technology, equipment, and policies that may improve customer service and operations. Partner with IT as requested on IT escalations for terminal operating system Leads Process Improvement initiatives by addressing current operational issues and supporting appropriate solutions for improvement on a regular basis. Responsible for the implementation of new processes and procedures and/or technologies into the workplace, including the administration of all supporting operational or procedural modifications in accordance with such. Work closely with Labor Relations during adaptation of technology for the purpose of maintaining jurisdictional boundaries, this requires comprehensive knowledge of all applicable CBA's. Participates in terminal expansion/modification projects and works directly with Terminal Project Management Team to provide feedback and advise on operational impacts. Attend required safety trainings and meetings; follow all safety and health guidelines, standards, practices, policies, and procedures; and actively participate in the Husky's Emergency Preparedness program and activities Position Requirements The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education: High School Diploma or GED required BS/BA degree in Marine Administration, Project Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience: 5 years' experience managing longshore union labor with extensive knowledge of related union contracts and employment and labor laws. A minimum of 5-years of experience in terminal or ocean carrier operations A minimum of 5-years of experience working with marine terminal operating systems such as Navis, OPUS, TOS, etc. Experience preferred in all aspects of a container terminal including: rail, gate, yard, and vessel op
