What you will do:

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of trade and transport professionals.

  • Build and develop a strong team, with emphasis in talent development to build a robust talent and succession pipeline. Support and leverage regional and global trade resources, working closely with the Global Trade Management team to ensure that all Stryker importing and exporting sites comply with established procedures and relevant trade regulations, and that gaps are escalated, addressed, and resolved.

  • Support all Global Transportation projects and act as primary liaison with leaders in the region representing their requirements in the Global Transport Team.

  • Create and maintain metrics for Transport and Trade, including but not limited to On-Time Delivery, Freight Cost per Unit, Carrier Performance, Cost to clear, Average Duty rate, Speed to clear and team productivity.

  • Accountable for the filing and maintenance of all applicable trade related registrations, permits, and government reporting, in accordance with Stryker specifications, local applicable regulations. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of business records.

  • Responsible for all interactions with local trade and tax authorities. Manage business escalations to ensure effective service continuity. Provide guidance on trade and transport issues.

  • Advise senior business leaders of potential business ramifications of changing regulations and political/regulatory environment related to international trade.

  • Develop, communicate, enforce, and maintain policies and procedures for relevant functions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, and service. Performs other related work as assigned by management.

What you need:

Education & special trainings:

  • Degree level in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain management or related area required.

  • English, Portuguese, and Spanish languages are required.

  • APICS accredited or professional supply chain accreditation preferred.

  • Must understand end-to-end supply chain interactions and interdependencies.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Previous work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional areas in the LatAm region.

  • Proven ability within Trade regulations, logistics, operations, and project management.

  • Experience with Transport and Trade Management Systems.

  • Experience in Medical Device industry or comparable industry a plus.

  • Ability to influence decentralized teammates and influence across a regional team.

  • Strategic planning, problem solving and tactical implementation skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects.

  • Strong Microsoft office skills required, particularly Excel.

  • Strong knowledge of IT systems & tools and their implications for business processes (JDE).
