Your Role and Responsibilities

Social Media and Influence Professional: Strategist and Content Producer

IBM is in search of an experienced and multidisciplinary Motion Designer to help bring social first ideas to life on behalf of IBM. To bolster IBM's leadership in the hybrid cloud and AI space, the Social Media & Influence team is responsible for translating our brand story across our owned and paid social channels to raise awareness around what we do as a company, our products, and solutions. In this role you will work directly with our design team and in partnership with creative strategists aligned to key areas of the business to bring social-first ideas to life.

Job responsibilities: Conceptualize and storyboard motion graphics and animations based on project objectives and creative briefs. Collaborate with creative team members to develop cohesive visual concepts and narratives. Design, animate, and edit engaging visual content for social activations and videos, optimizing for audience understanding and engagement.

Implement feedback to refine motion design deliverables from the creative team and stakeholders. Conduct research and gather reference materials to inform design processes. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in motion design and storytelling. Optimize content for various platforms and formats, including web, mobile, and broadcast. Manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.

Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to deliver exceptional results. Utilize industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Figma, Photoshop) to produce high-quality visual content.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Proficiency and mastery of Adobe After Effects, with the curiosity to continue learning new techniques

Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator for designing and working with vector graphics and assets

Experience using Figma for collaborative design and content creation

Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing and post-production.

Good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop for image manipulation and compositing.

Demonstrated knowledge of workflow enhancing scripts and expressions in After Effects

Ability to integrate After Effects seamlessly with other Adobe Creative Suite applications.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, newsroom-studio style team

Demonstrated proficiency in crafting compelling visual narratives, utilizing metaphors and storytelling techniques to engage audiences and convey complex ideas effectively.

Knowledge of the social media landscape and curiosity about how to build best in class creative for social platforms

Experienced in maintaining brand consistency through adherence to brand guidelines and systems

Excellent communication skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Familiarity with other relevant software/tools in the motion design field is a plus.

Working knowledge of project management tools such as Slack, Airtable and Box

Experience with social media management tools
