What you will be doing:

Shift: Mon-Fri (2pm-10pm)

Wage: $18hr. (Shift Differential Included, Training Starting Wage, Sign-on Bonus)

As a Prepress Feeder, you will be responsible for ensuring the press is kept running consistently to ensure quality issues are minimized. You will diagnose and correct feeder issues when possible and provide detailed descriptions of symptoms that cause issues and communicate them with the 1^st^ pressman.

Essential Functions Include:

Keep press running and prepare loads for the production run. Ensure all loads are perfectly aerated. Ensure all sheeted loads for a job are run and not missed. Ability to read and follow press schedule and job ticket.

Refer to the sheeter run checklist for number of loads plus size changes. Keep load tags in load until run. Ability to set up and run the feeder.

The feeder operator is always on the press for make-readies and wash ups. Feeder operator is aware and able to perform the steps on make ready and/or wash up. Ensure understanding of direction from the 1st pressman. Remain on press during press checks to be available for the 1st.

Clean paper dust from feeder each shift. Maintain chemicals and rags on press.

Ensure side guide eye is clean and alarms set properly. Check air at feeder head and the vacuum pressure.

Verbally communicate any issues that occurred during the shift. Ensure the press area is prepared for next shift. (supplies full, loads ready, etc.)

Daily duties include Check size, style, copy and color prior to job runs. Review whole sheet for plate defects, print register issues, blanket smashes, hickies and print defects.  Monitor color, Maintain consistent ink level in ink fountains.

Monitor coating process for proper coating, viscosity, pile temperature, coating pattern, ensure glue areas are clear from coating, look for blobs and slinging. Check for offset/spray powder coverage, ensure printing is as "dry" as possible.

Identify, tag, and complete information on defected spring loads.  Sort tags in load indicating die position, the issue, and a printed sample of the issues.  Identify defect area by marking red on gripper edge of sheet.

Ensure all sheets for a job have been run (no missed loads). Wash-up and make ready of jobs on the press.  Put away ink after each job. Clearly communicate with next shift any issues that have occurred during the shift.

While the regular working cycle of this production is usually five (8) hour days or a rotating 3/4 (12) hour days, hours may vary as specified by management.  Incumbent must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management.
