Job Summary

This position will manage the University Recreation ( UREC ) Open Recreation Program, including the overall operations of the Klotsche Center, Pavilion, Engelmann Gym, and OHOW Center (limited). In addition, this position will have responsibility for the pre-planning, set-up, coordination, and break-down of UREC , Athletic Department, UW-Milwaukee, and community special events held in the Klotsche Center, Pavilion, and Engelmann Gym. This is a customer service driven position performing it’s work onsite, in-person.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field

  • One year or more of related professional experience

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field (or progress toward degree)

  • Professional or Graduate Assistantship experience in recreation or recreational sports

  • Demonstrated experience managing a recreation or athletic facility

  • Demonstrated experience planning, staffing and setting-up athletic events (basketball, volleyball, track, swimming, etc.) and/or other special events at multiple locations

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Fusion facility management software (or similar) and security software

  • Previous experience as a supervisor to a variety of employee types, including (but not limited to) the following:

  • students in a higher education environment

  • part-time or temporary staff

  • full-time professional staff

    Target Salary Range $47,000 - $51,000
