Job Description

Designs, implements, and maintains security measures within cloud environments to protect Northwell's digital assets and data. Partners and collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce security policies, identify vulnerabilities, and create robust security solutions for cloud-based systems.

Job Responsibility

1.Develops and implements a comprehensive cloud security strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and compliance requirements.

2.Designs and architects secure cloud solutions, considering aspects such as network security, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and data protection.

3.Continuously monitors cloud environments for security threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalies. Implements proactive measures and incident response plans to address cloud security incidents effectively.

4.Ensures that cloud security practices adhere to industry standards and regulatory compliance.

5.Collaborates with development, operations, and IT teams to educate and enforce security best practices. Works with IT teams and business owners to verify that the cloud environment reference architecture aligns with the business processes and requirements.

6.Verifies that the required security controls are properly implemented in cloud projects.

7.Works closely with the Security Operation team to verify visibility into cloud environments and identify potential threats and suspicious events. Revises and develops processes to strengthen the cloud Security Operations Framework.

8.Provides guidance, mentoring, and support to junior and midlevel architects and engineers.

9.Represents the Information Security function in strategic planning and governance meetings.

10.Provides input and insight into risk mitigation and information security architecture considerations.

11.Drafts and delivers briefs and executive summaries to executive leaders.

12.Recommends and develops policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation, and use of Information Technology.

13.Operates under limited guidance. Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.

14.Regularly exercises independent judgment on matters of significance including designing and developing solutions to problems and making recommendations on new processes, tools, and services that can impact multiple projects and other functions.

15.Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.

Job Qualification

*Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, required. Master's degree, preferred.

*5-7 years of information security experience and 3 years of cloud security experience, required.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

The salary range for this position is $121,200-$212,100/year
