The Retail Sales Transformation (RST) team represents the sales organization with a focus on streamlining workflows and driving meaningful improvements to support our sales professionals via business process improvements and user experience enhancements. We collaborate with partners to optimize our operating model and execute & evolve our roadmap to support our focus.

The RST group accomplishes this by setting strategic direction, business case development, listening to our client-facing colleagues, conducting detailed analyses, and partnering with our product management teams in select product delivery. The team seeks a Senior Manager to join the efforts in continuous improvement of Schwab’s financial planning, discovery, and advice solutions. The Senior Manager will support existing and new initiatives within Planning, Advice and Field Forum/Feedback by diagnosing pain-points, ideating on solutions/strategy, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver changes. Your role has high leadership visibility and will collaborate with a broad set of stakeholders, partners, executive leadership, data science/analytics, and product/technology to fulfill the vision.

What you’ll do:

  • Foster an in-depth understanding of the ways that Schwab sales professionals serve our retail clients, and the key ways in which Schwab can improve the overall experience considering people, process and technology

  • Define and execute on business strategy for Financial Planning, Specialist Referrals and other projects aligned to the overall vision and roadmap for Retail Sales Transformation

  • Plan and manage the execution of work streams for large, complex projects, as well as take full ownership for smaller projects

  • Present, persuade, and influence broad set of stakeholders with analysis, strategic direction and implementation recommendations

  • Define, and support the development/distribution of reporting for Specialist Referrals, Planning and Advice as required

What you have

  • Exceptional Storyboarding - Multiple years of experience crafting compelling business stories and influencing Sr. leaders (leveraging PowerPoint)

  • Strong communication – Proven communication and management skills to increase messaging with RST team, workstream & initiative owners & teams.

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including:

  • Building structured frameworks to guide quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Gathering information through research and interviews

  • Translating strategic insights into actionable recommendations

  • Evaluating data and information to determine the "so what"

  • Strong relationship builder – Interpersonal skills and teamwork skills to collaborate with counterparts throughout the entire organization.

  • Technology Fluency -ability to converse with technology and product teams and comfort being part of high level architectural, platform, and delivery conversations. Willingness to learn new tools and self-research to build foundational understanding

  • Influential – Strong negotiation skills to align multiple stakeholders (e.g., Program Leads, ELT, etc.)

  • A bias for action - the ability to overcome obstacles, tackle challenges creatively, and successfully execute, at times, under tight deadlines. Curiosity for learning the intricacies of the business, systems, and processes is a must

Key Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of full-time work experience, preferably with 2+ years of work experience in strategy role and/or in a client facing/delivery role

  • A client/sales consultant-centric focus – keeps clients and sales consultants in forefront of decisions, connects plans and actions to our purpose of serving clients and the field

  • Strong executive presence and relationship management skills; ability to influence senior leadership and enroll employee support and engagement

  • Expert user of PowerPoint and Excel

  • Ideal candidate would have familiarity with financial planning, discovery and advice topics and tools (Salesforce, MoneyGuide Pro)

  • Financial Services industry experience is preferred

  • Bachelor's degree required (MBA a plus); Professional designations and certifications also a bonus

  • Personally, and professionally aligned with Schwab’s vision and values, and a deep interest in financial services

CO Salary Range: USD $125,000 - $175,000 / Year
