Overview

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Sr. Financial Analyst will work onsite at our state of art Innovation and Manufacturing facility in Lake Forest and be responsible to assist the Director of Plant Operations Finance with supporting HIM LF’s financial reporting. Responsibilities include supporting and updating monthly forecasts and financial reports, internal KPI reporting and ad hoc requests, and assisting with the monthly accounting period close.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Analytical responsibilities:

  • Prepare, update, and maintain monthly forecasts and schedules.

  • Responsible for the creation, review, and distribution of the financial review package.

  • Assist with monthly BS/IS preparation and review including variance explanations and follow ups from corporate.

  • Meet monthly with management where needed regarding variances to budget/forecasts for explanations and action plans, including follow ups.

  • Assist in monthly report outs and presentations to local management and corporate.

  • Provide assistance with ad hoc projects related to plant manufacturing and financial reporting.

  • Assist with month end close financial reporting in OneStream consolidation process.

Fixed Assets responsibilities:

  • Maintain Fixed Asset subsidiary ledger and account reconciliation.

  • Prepare monthly fixed asset rollforward reconciliation.

  • Adhere to corporate policy for capitalizing equipment purchases and other construction in progress activities.

  • Lead monthly team meetings regarding CapEx status and forecasting.

  • Ensure proper Use Tax rate is applied to qualifying assets.

  • Provide management monthly year-to-date spend compared to budget/project.

  • Maintain and support PAR submission and review process in DMS, not limited to ROI/payback review, submission justification, form completeness, follow ups and fielding questions.

  • Complete annual physical of fixed assets per prescribed plant.

  • Ensure proper tagging, identification, and location of all assets on the floor and in Oracle.

  • Perform fixed asset listing review with department heads for changes in fixed assets (impairments, write offs, etc.) and construction-in-progress status.

General responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain period-close journal entries and account reconciliations for HIM LF.

  • Oversee the Daily Production Report as well as the preparation and review of local Key Performance Indicators.

  • Research and resolve account discrepancies.

  • Prepares special reports and assists in special projects as assigned by Management.

  • Ensure SOX and internal audit compliance and assist where needed, including support requests and process walkthroughs

  • Participate in budget, forecast, and monthly reporting activities.

  • Interact with other departments, such as Corporate Accounting, IT, Purchasing, Maintenance, Facilities, Engineering, Quality Control and Quality Assurance, including shared projects.

  • Demonstrate initiative in all aspects of Plant Accounting.

  • Update and maintain vendor files.

  • Assist in cross training where needed.

  • Perform quarterly SOX and operational compliance testing and remediation as necessary.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills :

  • Ability to work within deadlines and meet departmental goals.

  • Strong accounting skills in conjunction with strong analytical skills.

  • Proficient PC skills including Windows, Excel and Word

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Team player and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management.

  • Proficient project management skills.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports and legal documents.

  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and ability to properly prioritize.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data.

  • Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.

Experience:

  • 6+ years accounting experience

  • 6+ years prior fixed asset accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge in all MS Office applications, particularly in Excel, including the ability to perform pivot tables, VLOOKUP and high-level functions and formulas.

  • Experience utilizing leading ERP software (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP).

  • Other relevant experience will be considered.

Education:

  • Bachelor's (BS/BA/BBA) degree in Accounting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in both Corporate and Public Accounting

  • Experience in large multi-national corporations

  • Multi-level marketing and global company experience

  • Strong proficiencies in Oracle

  • MBA degree or CPA
