Description

We are in search of a meticulous AR Deductions Specialist to join our team located in Irving, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving deduction discrepancies, maintaining the financial health of the company, and working collaboratively with different departments.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze customer invoices and payment records to identify deductions

• Research the reasons behind the deductions, such as damaged goods, incorrect pricing, or missed discounts

• Gather supporting documentation, including contracts, order confirmations, and communication logs

• Determine the validity of the deduction based on company policies and agreements

• Negotiate with customers to reach a fair resolution

• Issue refunds or credits if the deduction is valid

• Update accounting records to reflect the resolved deduction

• Monitor outstanding deductions and ensure timely resolution

• Identify trends in deductions to prevent future occurrences

• Work collaboratively with sales, customer service, and accounting departments

• Prepare reports on deduction activity

• Identify potential fraud attempts

• Maintain positive relationships with customers

• Use skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash Applications, Cash Collections, Commercial Collections, Microsoft Excel, Deductions, Client communications, Collections, Collections - Consumer, and Customer Service to perform duties.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Collections and/or Customer Service.

Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Receivable (AR).

Strong collection and negotiation skills

Demonstrated history of reaching and exceeding Collections Department goals and standards for customer service

Knowledge of commercial credit and collection laws

Experience in establishing a credit and collection policy
