The Production Technologist applies knowledge and skills to complete projects related to engineering technology. Supports the Production Engineering staff by completing projects involving the retrieval, preparation, processing, manipulation, and management of data. Possesses an understanding of production, operating expenses, capital budgets, daily operations and reporting, well equipment and facility configurations, and cost justification. Works under general supervision to complete complex tasks.


High School diploma or equivalent


Requires a minimum of 3 years of related industry experience in operations


• Work under general supervision and perform complex assignments such as maintaining files/records, performing calculations, and gathering/tabulating data

• Apply an understanding of terminology, applications, and standard procedures for performing the engineering technician job function

• Work with engineers and more senior engineering technologists

• Apply intermediate and advanced skills in the application of relevant software packages

• Generate reports based on standard procedures

• Support operating areas with invoice coding and tracking lease operating expenses

• Liaison with contract companies regarding billing and invoicing

• Assisting the field office with management of fleet vehicles

• Conducting truck scheduling for crude oil hauling as well as water hauling

• Wellview & Siteview entry and utilization

• Tracking logistics, ordering parts & equipment, and tracking expenses and budgets


• Oil and Gas Industry Experience Preferred

• Practice safe work habits at all times

• Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes

• Strong knowledge of PC/mainframe systems, spreadsheet, and/or database application software

• Developed computer skills with industry specific software as well as Microsoft products and Wellview

• Strong math and science skills

• Familiarity with drilling/production processes and terminology

• Able to travel as required
