To succeed in this role, you must have a BS in Geology or related engineering or science degree and have 2-7 years of experience in a related field. The successful candidate will assist with managing and occasionally gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological, and geochemical data in both the field and office settings. You will join our Site Solutions team As our new Geologist, you will be part of our interdisciplinary team in Cincinnati, Ohio. You will work with all levels of expertise from entry level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their fields. Consultants and managers are part of a continual learning environment where they learn through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job tasks. Ramboll engineers, geologists and scientists deliver value-added, site-specific solutions that address all aspects of the remediation process -- from site investigation and feasibility studies to risk assessment, remedy selection, remedial design and construction, management to site reuse. The individual should be able to apply their experience and skill set to an array of media (e.g., vadose zone, sediment, soil, groundwater surface water interface), contaminants (e.g., inorganics, organics, and chlorinated solvents), and sources (e.g., industrial sites, landfill properties, chemical and manufacturing industries). This position is technical in nature, and is intended for a motivated, self-starter that wants to grow quickly towards a full-time project management role. We will provide the successful candidate opportunities to expand their skills in a variety of service areas. The primary duties of the geologist will be to assist current Project Managers with field studies, data collection and compilation, as well as developing site remediation strategies. Qualified candidates will have a strong technical focus with and emerging project management experience, and have demonstrated abilities in: Critical thinking abilities for data analysis and group participation for report completion based on evaluation of environmental data and application of regulatory criteria. Experience in field collection of soil, groundwater, sediment, and/or vapor samples. Experience in geologic well logging, monitoring well construction and development Experience with aquifer testing (e.g., pump tests, slug tests) and analysis a plus Proficient with field equipment and meter use, calibration, and troubleshooting (e.g., PID, gas meter, pumps, in-line water quality probes, surface water monitors) Proven track record of implementing site characterization field work following standard operating procedures / client guidelines and working safely.
