Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, AMZL Controllership Finance in Bellevue, Washington

Amazon's "Last Mile" delivery service is responsible for delivering packages (and smiles) to households/businesses across the planet. Our finance team closely partners to support this rapidly expanding business while building a portfolio of delivery stations, vans, and technology to deliver customers' packages on time - often next day, sometimes faster. We augment our traditional "deliver by van" with other models including Amazon Flex (gig economy drivers), Amazon Lockers, and more - all designed to deliver smiles to our customers. AMZL Finance seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to help lead and oversee critical functions in the Fixed and Variable cost space as part of the Field Finance Controllership Channel. The Finance Controllership team is focused on designing cost effective strategies, driving network-wide process improvements, and supporting strategic decision making through financial modeling and reporting. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following abilities: they influence business owners, effectively lead meetings with senior leaders, support thoughtful decision-making through data, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. This individual will also play a key role in decision making and developing financial insights as part of monthly and quarterly business reviews. This individual is able to drive network scale initiatives, enforce standard work, review and action purchase requests, develop and lead cost business reviews, and provide ad-hoc analysis on large or ambiguous tasks.

Key job responsibilities

  • Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with your business partners and influence decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to root cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data, then assist, consult with, and teach the business how decisions affect costs in their sites and create new mechanisms, as they are needed.

  • Expertise in collecting, analyzing and managing quantitative data to create meaningful analysis to support business improvements through cost optimization.

  • Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in operating to budget.

  • Leverage cross-functional partnerships with Central Finance, Supply Chain, and Engineering to drive network projects.

  • Lead standardization of network processes to promote consistent and accurate financial reporting including mechanisms to drive adoption.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA and/or Professional certification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CPA)

  • Proficient in SQL, Quicksite, and/or advanced modeling in Microsoft Excel.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
