Power Platform is a strategic new growth area for Microsoft, but more importantly, it is a disrupting technology. Power Apps is at the forefront of this growth curve for low-code app developers. Within Power Apps, the Interface group is responsible for all the end user interface. The group owns the framework that enables modern and productive user experiences. These range from individual controls, business process, forms, dashboards, grids, pages, commanding, control framework, collaboration, search, mobile experiences, multi session, and more. These components enable App developers to build rich, productive, and customizable apps efficiently. We also work closely with many other groups across the BAP organization. 

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES   

The Power Apps Interface group is looking for software engineers who can drive our next set of investments to make Power Apps the best-in-class client platform. Our vision is to make Power Apps THE platform on which a modern and productive Apps can be built making use of the powerful and simple building blocks that run on a wide range of form factors, devices, and hosts. As a member of the Insights & Analytics group, you will be working on the cutting edge of data platforms and data engineering, handling terabytes to petabytes of data, working on world class systems to solve critical data driven business problems. The team will be based in our India office. The charter includes a wide range of problem spaces such as building pipelines and processes for data capture and ingestion, ETL pipelines and analytics, building data engineering solutions and delivering on key data representation and visualization using modern BI solutions and platform integrated charting

The technology stack of the group is rich and diverse. It includes many modern UI frameworks and technologies like Typescript, Javascript, React, GraphQL, CSS and HTML, automation frameworks like playwright and selenium and some server components based on C#. For the dev inner loop working with ADO pipelines and enhancing debugging and diagnostics for Power Apps.  

Further responsibilities include:  

• Be hands-on: architecture, design, code reviews, development, quality assurance, observability, and live site. 

• Work with Program Management and team leadership on execution 

• Build strong relationships with teams within the Power Apps group to bring innovation to new and existing products. 

• Foster a culture of inclusivity and disciplined software engineering practices to deliver business value, guided by data. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications / Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:   

• 4+ years of experience in software design and development 

• 4+ years of experience with an OO language (e.g., C++, C# or Java) and/or JavaScript 

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent or 2+ years of industry experience  

Preferred Qualifications   

• Enterprise cloud development experience with either Azure, AWS, etc. 

• Experience with TypeScript, front-end technologies like Redux/React

• Experience working with big data systems such as Azure Data Explorer, Data Lake Storage, Spark, HDFS, etc.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills 

• Strong technical acumen combined with a curiosity to continue learning and better understand end user productivity experiences
