Microsoft Corporation Technical Program Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

You will have tangible impact on a growing organization, getting things done across large and diverse global teams and developing practices and manage programs that drive results. You will partner with other technical program managers within the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) team to help manage programs within the EPC Portfolio. You’ll be a vital, trusted member of this tight-knit team and you’ll participate in fast paced execution to contribute big-picture thinking and strategic execution. A successful candidate will have cross-group organizational skills, well developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities, experience in successfully leading complex strategies and technical projects to completion, in addition to agile communication skills. Responsibilities

  • Identifieshighly complex opportunities and gaps in existing systems and processes, builds a plan and collaborates with others to bridge these gaps.

  • Defines the program(s) goals and prioritization for the business and translates the needs of the organization and other teams into program goals and prioritized deliverables based on data insights. Provides solutions or recommendations to key stakeholders to make complex decisions based on data-driven identified risks and tradeoffs.

  • Defines success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs], Key Performance Indicators [KPIs] such as quality and performance) for the program. Mentors others on how to define success and performance metrics. Adapts communication style and storytelling strategy according to audience and business needs.

  • Evangelizes complex programs to stakeholders, and partners to gain buy in. Leverages data and performance metrics to demonstrate the value of the program and show business impact. Uses data analytics to derive insights and training that help identify current and future program risks and mitigation plans, as well as opportunities to streamline and optimize programs based on lessons learned.

  • Creates relationships to drive orchestration and integration efforts for the development and implementation process for large and highly complex cross functional projects. Influences leadership on objectives. Collaborates and coordinates across the business to ensure alignment and gain buy in.

  • Tracks, coordinates, and communicates end-to-end project schedules (e.g.semester plans, milestones, timelines, releases) across divisional boundaries. Establishes and monitors processes, and drives accountability with stakeholders for following the established schedule and processes. Tracks and manages dependencies to enable cohesive, connected user scenarios, and to identify potential risk areas and escalate appropriately. Makes adjustments or course corrections when projects are not aligned to schedules or goals.

  • Leads governance programs and processes to ensure that specific performance requirements and standards are met throughout the Program lifecycle.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis,  product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of project management experience, with a focus on delivering scalable innovative solutions

  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Ability to identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and develop strategies to achieve business goals.

  • Ability to motivate a team by creating clarity and driving execution.

  • Passion and the ability to achieve results, tackle ambiguity, match a fast pace of delivery with minimal supervision and prioritize workloads effectively.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
