HP Inc. Security Opportunity Analyst in Albany, New York

Job Summary

Security Opportunity Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring our organization meets the security requirements and expectations of our customers. You will work closely with internal teams, external clients, subject matter experts, and channel partners to assess, articulate, and negotiate security matters. Requirement to have Security experience, as well as sales-oriented understanding of security positioning within proposals and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with HP Professional Services Product and Delivery teams to grow HP's Security Services business

  • Review and respond to customer inquiries around security practices and compliance in a timely and accurate manner

  • Deliver effective Security support on key opportunity proposals, RFI/RFQ, and audit exercises

  • Collaborate and leverage relationships with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, supply chain, pursuit, product, cybersecurity, and others to ensure alignment with company policies, practices, protocols, and regulatory alignment.

  • Drive HP Customer engagement by bridging cybersecurity expertise with pursuit team support.

  • Assist in negotiating security terms and conditions across various contract templates, service-level agreements, and other customer-provided documentation.

  • Collaborate with teams across Cybersecurity, Supply Chain, Privacy, Sustainability, and IT disciplines to provide meaningful measures for risk treatment and team performance.

  • Serve as subject-matter expert on security related topics during internal meetings, presentations, and customer negotiations.

  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging threats and regulatory changes related to security and data protection.

  • continuously improve processes and documentation related to customer security assessments and security contractual terms and negotiations

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in security, data privacy, technology, business information systems, or related area of study) or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong grasp of information security principles, standards and frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST CSF, etc.)

  • Contracts management, contracts law, security audit or RFI-response experience is a plus

  • Understanding of Cyber and IT security policies, standards and government regulations

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience with customer-facing or vendor-facing contractual negotiations.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Potential Certifications (may be considered in lieu of experience requirements)

  • CompTIA Security+ or ISACA CSX Cyber Fundamentals

  • CISM or CCNA

  • CISSP

  • CPCM, CFM, CCCM or CCMA

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or CAPM

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $102,500.00 -- $170,500.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
